Injured pet healed

One night, while reading a biography of Mary Baker Eddy, I read this account by a woman who had attended the dedication of The Mother Church in January 1895: “When I went home after the dedication of The Mother Church, I manifested a belief of a severe bronchial trouble which seemed very tenacious. During this time I was called back to Mrs. Eddy’s home for an interview. While there, no manifestation of the trouble appeared, and when taking my leave she accompanied me to the door, and putting her hand on my arm she said, ‘That is not in your body, but in consciousness, and you can put it out’ ” (Yvonne Caché von Fettweis and Robert Townsend Warneck, Mary Baker Eddy: Christian Healer, Amplified Edition, p. 180).

That last sentence seemed to leap off the page. I contemplated these words for some time and fell asleep thinking about this statement.

The next morning, I realized I had been thinking of myself as a mortal personality with a material body. But my true self is spiritual, the perfect reflection of divine Love. My thoughts began to shift from believing we are living in a material world to understanding that there is only one Mind or Spirit, which is God, and that the world we actually live in is spiritual.
