No more asthma
From a very young age, I grew up attending a Christian Science Sunday School. The truths I learned there, including the fact that God is ever present and available to help and heal, have always stayed with me.
My mother worked as the Clerk of our branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and sometimes I would go along with her and dance through the beautiful church auditorium close by her office. One of these times, I heard a message from God very clearly and directly. It was a simple message, but very powerful: “You are good.” I understood this to mean that we reflect God, who is only good—that God made me and all of us, and we are His children.
A few years later, when I was about nine years old, I began to experience symptoms of asthma. My parents would call a Christian Science practitioner to pray for me, and I would soon feel better. But the problem persisted, and once again I would have difficulty breathing, playing sports, and having a normal routine. During this time, my mom and dad were not only supportive and comforting, but were also actively praying for me. I knew that all my needs were being met and that I could go directly to God and find lasting freedom.
