The heavenly record
Each one of us has a genuine and worthy heavenly record right now, known fully to God—and this is true in spite of any human record we have made or that has been attached to us.
The heavenly record of each one of us is already written, and is based on man’s status as the blessed child of God, made in His image and likeness, as clearly stated in the first chapter of Genesis. And since God is divine and infinite Spirit, being God’s child means that we are each the spiritual creation of God, of divine Love itself.
In the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy writes, “In Science man is the offspring of Spirit. The beautiful, good, and pure constitute his ancestry. His origin is not, like that of mortals, in brute instinct, nor does he pass through material conditions prior to reaching intelligence. Spirit is his primitive and ultimate source of being; God is his Father, and Life is the law of his being” (p. 63).
