The precision of God’s care

Every day provides opportunities to gain a better understanding of spiritual good. Daily experiences, even tough ones, are potential springboards for spiritual growth, for gaining a fuller sense of God as universally loving, and for finding fresh openings to learn the practicality of reliance on God.

Spiritual sense—the God-created awareness enabling everyone to discern Spirit and the fact that we’re the reflection of Spirit, our divine Parent—develops trust in good. Mary Baker Eddy wrote in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, “Spiritual sense is a conscious, constant capacity to understand God” (p. 209). As we cultivate our spiritual awareness through a heartfelt desire to know God better, we experience progress that may have seemed impossible when previously considered from the standpoint of ordinary human perception and prospects.

Because everyone actually is the spiritual likeness of God, prayerfully acknowledging this fact inevitably brings improvement in our characters and our lives. Our hearts are opened to experiences that demonstrate God’s infinite care and provision. Even simple, everyday circumstances can demonstrate this.
