Fever and sore throat gone
For parents, Mary Baker Eddy has much helpful and inspiring information in her book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. Something that has always been very encouraging for me regarding prayer and healing for children is this statement on page 412: “If the case is that of a young child or an infant, it needs to be met mainly through the parent’s thought, silently or audibly on the aforesaid basis of Christian Science.”
It is so reassuring to realize that, within my own thought, I can address the needs of my children and pray effectively.
One day several years ago, my daughter, Emily, complained of a fever and sore throat. Together we began praying. We also talked about ideas in the Bible and Science and Health that her class in the Christian Science Sunday School had been discussing. She had learned that God loves her so much and had made her completely spiritual and perfect. As we talked, it felt good to be reminded of that.
