Labrador’s health renewed
About 15 years ago, I had a big seven-year-old 105-pound yellow Labrador named Austin. Austin was a perfect gentleman, very obedient, lovable, and not at all aggressive. One day it was clear that he was in great physical distress, and his condition was very alarming to me. It seemed obvious that something had to be done, and done quickly. I didn’t have confidence in my ability to pray effectively for Austin to alleviate an emergency situation. So I took him to a local veterinarian.
The veterinarian told me that Austin had a heart condition that dogs rarely survive and that the best thing was to put him down. The vet treated him to alleviate the symptoms and told me that they would come back within two weeks. As the vet predicted, they came back. I asked the vet to treat him again. He said he would, but would not treat him a third time.
I just couldn’t accept the prognosis that there was no hope for Austin.
