Injuries from cat healed, harmony restored

Several times in the weekly Christian Science Bible Lesson a few months ago, the term sober appeared, as in, “Let us watch and be sober” (I Thessalonians 5:6), and from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, “Be watchful, sober, and vigilant” (p. 324). One definition for sober I found in Bible reference materials is to keep your wits about you. It’s this definition that reminded me of a healing I had a number of years ago.

An alley kitten had adopted me, and I was slowly introducing him to the other cat in my household. It had been going well, and after several months, I let them both outside in the backyard to enjoy the early spring sunshine. I joined them too, to keep an eye on them. At one point, my house cat attacked the kitten and began chasing him with intent to harm.
