Infected ear healed
To understand the validity of Christian Science is not difficult when I think of the many remarkable experiences I’ve had since taking up its study. I found this Science in my late teens when I was depressed and suicidal. At one point, when I was standing at the top of a cliff but was too frightened to jump, the thought came to me, “A drowning man will clutch at a straw.” My next thought was, “Yes, I have one more straw, and that’s Christian Science.”
So, straightaway I went to a Christian Science practitioner and told her of the skin disease I had on my feet and hands. I had endured four years of suffering from this condition, and medical doctors had failed to give relief. But when the practitioner prayed for me, healing resulted.
As I kept on studying the weekly Christian Science Bible Lessons and the writings of Mary Baker Eddy, I grew spiritually and experienced better health. One of the more significant healings I had came about with the help of a Christian Science nurse, as well as a practitioner. I had been in bed for two weeks with a severe ear infection. Four times I rang a practitioner for Christian Science treatment, and each time I gained temporary relief. However, at the end of the two weeks I cried out in pain: “Why? Why do I have to go through this?”
