God’s harmless creation
Many around the world are concerned about the recent news reports of the outbreak of the Zika virus and its impact on health, especially on pregnant women and their unborn children. These reports tend to reinforce the common belief that we are nothing more than vulnerable mortals, subject to diseases, unseen and unknown. But the inspired Word of the Holy Bible assures us that this is not the case. From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible brings to light that God, divine Spirit, is our creator and sustainer. We are actually His spiritual, whole, and eternal reflection. God’s law of harmony is right now governing us all. This law is supreme, keeping His creation safe and well.
The Bible’s account of Paul’s immunity from the ill effects of a venomous snakebite, and the many other accounts we read of divine protection, reveal that God is everywhere. Filling all space, He has no equal, opposite, or opposition. In Isaiah we read, “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else” (45:22). We are assured that no matter where we are, God is present and able to heal and save.
