Sing unto the Lord a new song all the earth
What if all the spiritual and metaphysical truths found in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy were true now? Does it seem odd to even pose such a question?
Someone might respond, “Well, I’ve been reading Science and Health most of my life, and I believe that what I’ve been reading is absolutely true.” But when asked the slightly different question, “Do you believe these truths are true for you right now?” the answer might bring a hint of reservation. The response might well be something like, “I still have much to demonstrate.”
While the answer might appear to be appropriately modest, in fact, it points to the need for a stronger grasp of a vital point in Christian Science. The basis for Christian Science demonstration isn’t a selfhood in matter that knows enough, but is instead divine Love’s embrace of its creation.
