Back pain gone
Several years ago, I drove about eighty miles to visit a friend. I was going to read that week’s Christian Science Bible Lesson to her. Because of an unusual set of circumstances, I agreed to be alone with this friend for about an hour.
Very shortly after I was on my own, my friend announced she needed to go to the bathroom. That would mean I needed to lift her from her chair into the wheelchair, take her into the next room, and then repeat the process. Being about the same size, I briefly entertained doubts, but I didn’t see another option.
As I was lifting her into the wheelchair, there was a loud crack in my lower back along with intense pain. I knew I had to pray about this immediately. I quickly affirmed that God was right there with both of us. Through my study of Christian Science, I knew that in my true identity I was the spiritual reflection of God. I affirmed that God knows no separation from His reflection, because there is no such separation; and He sees no accidents, because there are none under His jurisdiction and in His allness. As I mentally stood with these truths, the pain vanished, and I was able to complete the task.
