God’s healing power is everywhere
I once experienced and witnessed two consecutive healings over the course of one week, both of them shedding the light of Truth, God, on darkened human thought.
My family and I were living in Ethiopia. My husband was away, traveling in rural areas of the country for his work, and I was home alone with our four children, who ranged in age from two to thirteen years old. During that same week, my daughter, who was in the eighth grade, was going on an adventurous class trip in another remote part of Ethiopia. This was an interesting and exciting opportunity for her, but it also seemed challenging for a middle schooler. As her mom, I was a bit worried about her well-being.
Shortly after she left, at the very start of the week, I experienced intense pain in my face. The next day my eye was visibly swollen. The symptoms were absurd and distracting, and it seemed to me that the worry I had been feeling was being manifested in my body. This was a wake-up call to me that I needed to stop worrying about my husband and my daughter. Instead of worrying, I needed to pray, not only for myself but also for the two of them while they were away.
