Symptoms of pneumonia gone
As the date for the annual meeting of my Christian Science students’ association was approaching, I had not yet done a big part of my assignment—to read a particular biography about Mary Baker Eddy. In fact, for years I hadn’t wanted to read this biography. I had tried, but could never get into it.
Then I became so ill that I had to go to bed. The symptoms indicated to me it might be pneumonia. I could barely do anything, and friends brought me food and checked in on me.
So there I was, in bed. The realization dawned that it would bless me to do my reading assignment. I picked up that biography and found that this time I really got into it. The experience was very humbling. By the time I finished that biography, I had a heightened sense of gratitude for Mary Baker Eddy and her path of discovering and founding Christian Science.
