Fresh look

Thank you so much for the fresh new look of the periodicals. Putting the Bible quote with the book, chapter, and verse on the Sentinel’s cover [January 14 & 21, 2013] lets others know first thing that we are Bible based. It also helps me as a chaplain when I share these Christly healing magazines with inmates and others.

Wherever we are

[“From juvenile hall, a Christmas to remember,” Hal Shrewsbury, December 24, 2012]

Thanks for the sweet reminder that Emmanuel means “God with us” (Matthew 1:23 ) wherever we may be. “If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea” (Psalms 139:9 ).

Compliments on the design

My compliments to the design team who created the new Sentinel format. Not only is it easier to concentrate on the actual content without distracting graphics, but also this new clean design is more in keeping with the simple, elegant style that is current.

Many thanks for the smaller size too—less paper wasted and easier to carry around.

Beautiful article

Thank you so much for the December 3 Sentinel, especially the beautiful article, “Paying tribute to those we love,” by Fenella Bennetts. All of God’s love was expressed in it. I’ve kept knowing that a loved one who has passed from our sight still exists and is moving forward even though they are out of our sight. There is only one Life and we can’t die; we are spiritual ideas of divine Life, God. I know, too, that my husband is progressing, moving forward, for God is his life.

Thank you for all the wonderful lessons and all the periodicals. I’m so grateful.

Game-changing article

This article was a game changer for me [“Honesty that heals,” November 5, 2012]. Honesty is such a core value in Christianity and spiritual healing. But when Robert Van Der Like wrote, “I see now that it [honesty] also means not accepting a lie,” my eyes popped open. This is a dimension of honesty beyond affirming the truth. Defining honesty as not accepting any lie about God or man shows the practice of Christian Science is a moral imperative. And the compassion shown in counseling the soldier about to be dismissed from the military could be applied to so many personal and professional situations. I’m deeply grateful for this article.
