Weakness and stomach pain healed

The morning of my first state archery shoot, I awoke feeling ill. The day before, I’d had periodic episodes of stomach pain, so I had prayed for myself throughout the day and had found a good deal of relief. Everything had gone well in practice that day, and I even shot my first “Robin Hood” (when you’ve already shot one arrow into the bull’s-eye and one of your following shots hits the first arrow, making one long arrow).

This morning, however, I wondered if I would even be able to compete because of the pain and lack of energy. Holding fast to my prayer of God’s love and care for me, I texted my daughter in California to ask if she would pray for me. She readily agreed. So off I went, refusing to allow error of any kind to disrupt my health or the harmony of my day.

I arrived early and was able to practice a few rounds. Everyone at the shoot was so kind and loving. Pulling back my bow the first time, though, I felt pain, and wondered if I could even draw the string fully.
