In this occasional series, individuals share how taking Christian Science Primary class instruction has strengthened their spiritual understanding, and brought increasing inspiration and healing to their lives.

Twelve sacred days

I dove into class instruction right after graduating from the Christian Science Sunday School. I was a bit panicked at the thought of graduating, realizing that the luxury of all those discussions with my Sunday School teachers and classmates were at an end. Although I’d had healings through prayer, I felt a gap in my understanding of how to pray and heal. So that summer I took the course that changed my life and set me on the path of my life’s work. Class instruction gave me a greater understanding of God and developed in me a deep love for Jesus and for Mary Baker Eddy, while strengthening my ability to heal. My teacher encouraged my classmates and me to think of ourselves as healers right now, and after class several of us began sharing our teacher’s practitioner office, beginning our own public healing practice. Those 12 days of class are sacred to me, and I will be forever grateful for them.
