My twenty-third Psalm*
The Lord is my Band Leader, I shall not lack the ability to play every note.
God, You give me powerful ideas. You lead me to entertain an
audience with ease.
You restore my confidence. You show me that I’m expressing You.
Even if I play a wrong note, I will not get worried because You show me how to focus on the rest of the song.
Your good ideas help me to play with inspiration and to improvise well.
If I get nervous before a performance, Your soothing voice will calm me,
and I will walk out on stage with strength.
You supply me with my talent. I can make up 100 songs with Your love.
Surely a boost of confidence will follow me through every
concert and practice,
and I will be living in the spotlight of Love forever.
*Based on Psalm 23 in the Bible.
