My constant guardian
Once I was scootering on a hot day. I was going down a hill. At the bottom there was a drop in the sidewalk, and you had to jump it. I had done it before, but this time there was water in the gutter. I jumped it and landed on the water and slid out. I hurt my knee and shoulder. They were scraped up pretty bad.
I was a ways from my house, so I prayed that I could get home. I knew that God would hold me up and keep me going. I have learned in the Christian Science Sunday School that God always takes care of us and that God is my constant guardian. When I got to my house and found my mom, I felt terrible pain in my shoulder and knee. We decided to call a Christian Science practitioner to pray with us.
My mom and I opened the Bible to this verse: “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword” (Hebrews 4:12). We talked about how God was there first, before the accident, and that God did not cause me to fall, so I could not really be hurt. There are no accidents in God’s kingdom. We also talked about how powerful God’s Word is.
