Liberation from the expectations of others
Deborah Huebsch, a practitioner and teacher of Christian Science, was the guest on this audio chat on JSH-Online.com. Deborah earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Theater from the University of California, Berkeley, and later, an MA from the University of Oregon in Interdisciplinary Studies.
My husband has been very specific about his expectations for our children’s professions, and whom they should marry. It creates issues for the kids, who love their dad, but may not agree with his wishes. How can we pray about this, and bring harmony to our home?
What is each child’s identity? Does a child come into the world to be shaped by their parents, or does the child come into the world already complete, with a full set of abilities and qualities because their heritage is divine?
