Foot injury ruled out through prayer
One of my favorite quotations from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures is: “Stand porter at the door of thought. Admitting only such conclusions as you wish realized in bodily results, you will control yourself harmoniously” (Mary Baker Eddy, p. 392).
A few years ago I experienced just what happens when you do “stand porter at the door” of your thought and don’t allow any “conclusions” to ruin wonderful times with family.
I had traveled to Tucson, Arizona, to attend a Thanksgiving family reunion at a cousin’s home. It is always enjoyable to see family members whom I haven’t seen in years. In fun, I decided to chase my nephew, who was carrying a bag of snacks across the front yard. I raced after him across a gravel driveway, and my right foot landed on the edge of a porch.
Immediately pain shot all the way up my leg.
