Letters

Thank you for the August 27 issue, “Balance.” I was most impressed and inspired by Mark Pierce’s article “Ditch failure!” As I read two paragraphs of the article that explored how “the suggestion of failure tried to attack the master Christian himself, Christ Jesus,” I was led to consider these passages in light of our dear Church. In so doing, I substituted “Church” and “members” for “Jesus,” and this is how the second of the two paragraphs would read: In the darkness of Gethsemane, could you imagine even the suggestion that a Church as remarkable as ours, which uplifts and touches so many lives, is now in peril? Church members don’t have time to ruminate over what erroneous thoughts are being said, because we are too busy praying and identifying with our source, divine Love.

Considering this passage in relation to Church, I felt such a wonderful affirmation of the thriving, Christ-healing activity that is continuously occurring in Christian Science churches and societies around the world!

Each edition of the periodicals contains so much inspiration and encouragement to follow
Jesus’ command to “let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).
