A great period in my life

I came into contact with Christian Science in 1986, when I was in my teens. One night while searching for my favorite radio program, I picked up at random the shortwave broadcast of The Herald of Christian Science. I was so fascinated by that program that each night I would bring my small radio to a quiet place, in order to listen to the transmission with no disturbance.

The third night, I caught the testimony of a Cameroonian woman telling how she was healed through prayer based on the ideas found in a book called Science and Health. At the end of the program I took down the address of The Christian Science Publishing Society. I wrote them a letter asking them to send me “the book that heals,” and in 1990, I got my first copy of
Science and Health. When I started reading it, I was so captivated by the ideas that I started attending Christian Science church services here in Douala.

As I dived into the metaphysics of Christian Science by studying Science and Health from page to page, along with the Bible, I was healed of chronic headaches and stomachaches, as well as many other physical issues I had been dealing with regularly. I started to understand that I was not made of blood or any material thing, and I prayed by affirming the truth about my spiritual nature and denying the error that presented itself. I knew that I was a complete and sound idea of God.
