Free from chronic knee trouble
Over the years, from time to time, my left knee gave me a range of pain from a little to a lot. Sometimes it just hurt in an annoying kind of way, and other times, especially after being active, I could not go up or down stairs without wanting to cry out loud.
I attributed the pain to a college field hockey injury, in which a teammate had clipped me on the field during preseason my senior year. This issue had lingered with me for 20 years.
Since the age of about eight, I had been in and out of Sunday School at my hometown Christian Science church. My mom had been introduced to the religion and brought me along to the services. Some Sundays I was with my dad and could not attend Christian Science Sunday School.
