In tough times God still provides

Raised in an upper-middle-class family, complete with large homes and swimming pools, I found myself one day on the opposite end of the economic spectrum.

I was living in a one-bedroom home with a husband and two babies. My husband and I were trying to keep the doors open to our refrigeration restoration and repair business and not knowing when our next paycheck would come.

One of the things I’d learned while attending Christian Science Sunday School as a child was from Science and Health: “Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need” (p. 494). Although I hadn’t been actively practicing Christian Science, I recognized that my human need then was to learn more about God and my relationship to Him, so I felt impelled to seek out Christian Science again. Intuitively, I recognized the desire to know more about the God who shepherds and guides, guards, protects, and loves us.
