A SHUNAMMITE INSIGHT
How the assertion "It is well" brought parenting inspiration.
CHILDREN ARE TRUSTING, innocent, naive, and affectionate. Sometimes, however, they are easily influenced to do and think as their friends do. When I became a parent, I felt my responsibility was to see that my children did what was right, loved their neighbor, and learned obedience to God's law of good. Part of Mary Baker Eddy's definition of children is this: "The spiritual thoughts and representatives of Life, Truth, and Love" (Science and Health, p. 582). Life, Truth, and Love are synonyms for God taken from the Bible. I didn't believe that anything could interfere or challenge this unconditional love and devotion.
I couldn't dictate my daughter's views, but I could trust that God would guide her.
