HEALINGS OF GROWTH AND IRRITATION

A number of years ago I noticed a very small growth on the side of my nose. I gave it little thought, as it was not very noticeable. Over time it became larger, but again it did not seem like anything out of the ordinary.

It was not until two young children, at different times, pointed at my nose and asked, "What's that?" that I finally accepted that the growth was not natural and that I needed to do something about it.

I have relied on Christian Science treatment since I was a teenager and have had many healings. I had trust that prayer would be effective in this case, too. At first, though, my prayers were halfhearted attempts—tossing out well-known verses from the Bible and sentences from Science and Health, hoping to get lucky with the "magic thought" that would bring healing. At the same time, I knew that Christian Science prayer is not based on chance but on the proven, spiritual laws that Jesus demonstrated to the world.
