WITHOUT A DOUBT

WHEN AS A YOUNG MOM I first joined a Christian Science church, I knew I'd made a commitment to practice the Science of the Christ in my life.

I wasn't thinking of a public healing practice at that point, but I realized that Christian Science Primary class instruction would be a good next step to show me how to pray more effectively. Yet with small children at home I didn't see how I could possibly get away for 12 days to take class.

But when our church hosted a Christian Science lecture, I thought, "Wow! That speaker is doing God's business." Then came the idea that I could take class instruction from him. I was surprised by the quickness and firmness of this message. A few days later the thought came, "Have you called him yet?" I didn't usually hear God's messages so clearly. I was sure it was a divine prompting. I contacted the lecturer, who was also a Christian Science teacher. A few months later I was in his class. What I learned opened the door to my praying for world needs, as well as for my family and church. And I began by looking in the local newspaper for issues to pray about.
