OUR SON'S HEARING WAS RESTORED
When my son Matthew was in second grade, he seemed to be gradually losing his hearing over a period of about a month. He needed sentences repeated to him and had trouble understanding conversations when he was some distance away.
My wife and I had seen the reliability of Christian Science in our family and chose this method of care for our son. We also asked a Christian Science practitioner to assist us in our prayers. But as weeks passed, Matthew's hearing did not seem to improve. Eventually, he wanted to face people so he could read their lips while they were talking.
One day, Matthew's teacher called his name and he didn't respond. She expressed her concern to my wife, and it was clear to both of us that we needed to call a practitioner for help again. My expectation was that concentrated prayerful effort would help bring about swift healing.
