Stick with GOD, your best friend

Everyone likes having a friend. Someone who likes you. Someone you can have fun with. Someone who stands up for you and protects you. God is that kind of friend—a friend worth knowing really well and spending a lot of time with.

Actually, God is with you all the time, and has all the time in the world for you. Best of all, He knows you better than you know yourself, and it's all good. Anytime you open your heart to God, you'll hear all about how much He loves you and everyone else. God's thoughts are angels. So spending time with God is really angel-sharing time, and it's wonderfully fun. Also, God's angel thoughts help you do well in all your activities—in school, at camp, in sports—and they can keep you safe no matter what. And they help you be a good friend to others.

Someone who knew God better than anyone else was Christ Jesus. He had some great ideas on how to get to know God really well. To begin with, Jesus said we should find a private place to pray—a place where we can be alone with God and give Him all our attention. He said, "Enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret" (Matt. 6:6).
