TO EXPECT A VICTORY

Anyone struggling with feelings of depression that come and go—or worse yet, hang on and sink in—knows that it isn't something to consider lightly. And to be told to "just wait and see, you'll be fine" may not be at all comforting or reassuring.

Yet this Bible promise can be taken to heart: "Now is come salvation, and strength, ... for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night" (Rev. 12:10). Why? Because God's powerful healing love is present right now to end depression—making room for deeply felt joy to dissolve the weights of discouragement and darkness. Diligently embracing this truth in prayer, expecting it to be realized, helps free individuals, and society as a whole, of this sometimes subtle and oftentimes crippling condition.

We hope you'll find this week's pages filled with expressions of that healing joy God readily provides, to permanently end the pull of depressing thoughts and feelings. For you and those you love—the entire family of God's children—at home, in your workspace, neighborhood, and world.
