Epiphany

There comes a time ...
when we are all Jacobs
wrestling with our own
particular self-deceptions.

Like him, we must continue
the struggle, until the Christ
transforms our nature—
and the morning light breaks
in upon the sleeping dream.

We are not alone ...
for God's angels support
us in each trial of our faith,
until we rise, restored, made new,
strengthened and ready
to face the way ahead.
