THE REALITY OF GOD
"THERE'S PROBABLY no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life." That's one of the advertisements in a campaign sponsored by atheists in the United Kingdom. The ads were a response to earlier Christian fundamentalist advertisements telling people that unbelievers would "burn in a lake of fire." Ariane Shirine, who conceived the atheist ads, says she was shocked by these statements and "rejected such an outcome for her Parsi grandmother" ("As atheists roll out London ads, believers unruffled," The Christian Science Monitor, January 16, 2009).
RATHER THAN SEEING GOD IN MATERIAL TERMS, AS A KIND OF ENLARGED HUMAN WITH MARY BAKER EDDY PERCEIVED GOD AS DIVINE PRINCIPLE.
