Riding high
ONE DAY I WAS GOING TO RIDE a horse in a parade. Right before I went to get ready, my stomach started to hurt. I found my mom, and she helped me pray. We talked about God and that His plan for me was good.
Mom found a quote for me from the Bible that helped me a lot. It says, "For he performeth the thing that is appointed for me" (Job 23:14). To me that meant that God was going to do the work and I was going to have fun. I started to feel better. I realized that nothing could harm me. No matter what happened, God was right there. If my stomach hurt again, God would take care of that. If the horse spooked, God would reassure him
Mom and I talked some more about how God was in charge of my day and each part of it. I got ready to go, and Mom took me to where we were meeting for the parade. On the way, we kept praying. We listened to God to let in only good thoughts that came from God. When the horses arrived, I was feeling fine.
