My travel guide
I PROVED IN THE CHICAGO AIRPORT that when you ask God for answers, He will give them to you.
After visiting my cousin's house, my grandma, papa, uncle, mom, dad, brother, and I were on the same flight home. But our flight got canceled. At the beginning, I was angry and upset because we were going to be stuck at the airport and wouldn't get home on time.
In Sunday School I'd learned that you can look at things with your spiritual sense. This is everyone's ability to listen to what God is telling us. I knew that God is always with you to help you whenever you need something, wherever you are. God and His love travel with you. That's what I call "the traveling kingdom of heaven."
So when these upset thoughts were bothering me, I decided to turn to God. Before we left for the trip, I'd told my mom to bring our mini Bible. I asked my mom for it, and she handed it to me. I didn't know where to look to find what to pray with, so I just opened up the Bible randomly.
Two verses that I found were: "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened" (Luke 11:9,10). These verses helped me be patient and know that no matter what, I would get home.
Another Bible verse that I found was: "Thou shalt set aside that which is full" (II Kings 4:4). This helped me think about God being in charge of the full airplanes.
Things started to get more relaxed, and I could feel how God was always with me and protecting me with His encircling arms.
We were in the airport for six hours, and everyone was very patient.
We got on an airplane. We had a very nice ride, and everything was good.
It's fun to open the Bible randomly. God helps you find things that you need to know.
