I was all better!
THE NIGHT BEFORE my birthday I started having crazy dreams and feeling sick. I was really weak, couldn't eat anything but popsicles, and my head ached a lot. Lots of people at school had been talking about swine flu, and we'd heard of kids who had become sick.
My mom and I prayed. We talked about how perfect health is a quality of God that He has given to all of us. I understood that my body couldn't tell me I was sick, because God had already told me I was well always, and God tells me the truth. Sickness was a lie about my true self.
The next morning, Thursday, we called a Christian Science practitioner to pray with us. The practitioner talked with me about a Bible verse from the book of Zephaniah. It says, "The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing" (3:17). We prayed about that and trusted that God was powerful for me and for everyone at my school because so many kids, parents, and teachers were afraid of the flu.
