HELP BUILD AN 'ARK' FOR YOURSELF AND ALL

It's raining—AGAIN!  There was so much rain this past year where I live that, as a joke, our local newspaper's website posted instructions on how to build an ark like Noah did. Sounds pretty silly. Or is it? Could you build an ark yourself? Let's take a look at Noah's story in the Bible (Genesis, chapters 6–8) and find out.

You might remember God warned Noah that there was going to be a big flood. Water would cover everything. God told Noah to build a huge boat called an ark. It would float on top of the water. Noah's family would live in it during the flood. God also told Noah to bring pairs of all kinds of animals into the ark so they'd be safe too. Noah followed God's instructions. All the people and animals Noah took into the ark were safe.

What was so special about Noah that he knew how to do this? The Bible gives us a clue. It says that Noah "walked with God." When you take your mom's or dad's hand and walk with them, you are right together. You listen to and do what they tell you, and it keeps you safe. Noah was really good at doing the same thing with God. The cool thing is that you can be like Noah too.
