LETTERS

I've recently been confronted by a physical condition that has challenged each of my three sisters. When it appeared, I realized I needed to face the belief of heredity.

It was thus a great comfort to receive the Sentinel of March 3 devoted to this topic ["Do your genes define you?"]. Robin Hoagland's article on "An inheritance worth claiming" was particularly vigorous and enlightening. In it she referred to the belief in bipolar disorders. I've only recently learned of this ailment and been in close association with three different persons diagnosed with it. Her clear spiritual handling of it has been very helpful. I was able to share this article with these people.
