ALL NUMBNESS GONE

For two years I often suffered from numbness and pain in my arms and fingers—sometimes more frequently than others. I was healed entirely through prayer in Christian Science.

The pain would awaken me during the night or confront me when I got up in the morning. Soon, I became accustomed to it as part of my daily life and grew very discouraged.

Although I tried to pray, I wasn't praying with all my heart and soul, because I was thinking that a healing was impossible. And even though a Christian Science practitioner was praying with me, it seemed difficult to think that I could overcome the difficulty. I realize now that I wasn't acknowledging God as the divine power that heals, feeling instead that I had to somehow make the healing happen myself.
