Walking with God

One Sunday I was pretending to be Indiana Jones. As I was leaping across our tile hallway, I landed wrong and twisted my foot underneath me. I started crying loudly. My mom came rushing in. We started praying right away.

Mom reminded me about a nightmare that I'd had about a scary monster. The dream had seemed so real, even though it wasn't true at all. She said that even though the accident and pain seemed very real, they weren't any more real than the nightmare, because really I was spiritual and safe in God.

When I tried to get up, I couldn't stand on my foot. That night, my mom read the 91st Psalm to me. We talked about how God's angels are always taking care of us and that I could trust in God's care.
