SYMPTOMS OF SINUS INFECTION HEALED

Quite a number of years ago, I had an experience that proved to me the truth of this statement from Science and Health: "Become conscious for a single moment that Life and intelligence are purely spiritual,—neither in nor of matter,—and the body will then utter no complaints. If suffering from a belief in sickness, you will find yourself suddenly well" (p. 14).

I'd been struggling with symptoms of what felt like a sinus infection. Although during the day the problem was only a nuisance, at night after I'd been sleeping for a while, I'd find myself waking up in great discomfort. The first time this happened, I got up to pray and read the Christian Science Bible Lesson.

While I was praying, my sinuses drained, and the pain was relieved. Grateful for the release, I went back to bed, but the next night and the night after that, it happened again, and after a few days, it began happening twice or even three times a night. Finally, after about two weeks of this, when I awoke in pain once again, instead of picking up something to read, I just closed my eyes, reached out to God in my prayers, and quietly asked Him to tell me what it was I needed to know. Instantly a thought came to me so loudly and clearly that it was as if a voice were speaking to me. I heard, "You are not a sinner." Well, I was a bit taken aback by this and had to think about it for a minute.
