HEALING OF WARTS

O Arauto da Ciência Cristã

About five years ago, while visiting my parents at the beach, I hurt my foot when I stepped on a cockspur thorn, a small spiny plant. I felt a sharp pain and tried to remove what I thought was a thorn. That night my foot hurt a lot. In the morning I saw that it was very swollen, and that's when I noticed a wart on the bottom of my foot. I realized it must have gotten aggravated when I stepped on the cockspur. When I stood up, I felt as if I had pins all over the bottom of my foot.

The pain was very intense. I was no longer able to wear shoes, and I spent most of the time sitting with my foot elevated. As a Christian Scientist, I prayed about this situation expecting a healing. But at the same time, I also found myself touching my foot a lot in an effort to somehow remove what I still thought was a thorn imbedded in my foot.

About two weeks after the incident, I had to accompany someone to a health clinic. I was able to walk on flip-flops, although not without limping. While I was there, I asked the doctor to take a look at my foot. His verdict made me fearful. He told me it could be a plantar wart, and he said he'd suffered from the same problem and hadn't been able to get rid of it, even with surgery. He also said it was contagious.
