A SURE HEALING METHOD

When I was a child, I had such a dramatic healing of a severe skin condition that I've trusted the effectiveness of Christian Science healing ever since.

The condition, thought to be from a poison oak bush, had kept me out of school. My mother prayed for me, and she also called a Christian Science practitioner to pray with us. I remember going to bed one night with bandages on my face and forearms. But the next morning I woke up to find the bandages had fallen off, and my skin was perfectly clear. Not only were the extensive sores gone, but my skin was neither tender nor discolored.

Later, the practical healing method of prayer was priceless in raising my own family. One time, our older son began to experience sharp abdominal pain and was sent home from primary school on a Friday. I prayed constantly to see him as God saw him — spiritual, safe, and whole (see Gen. 1:26). The pain subsided, but then one night it became intense again. A practitioner was praying with us, but I began to wonder if we were doing all we could do. That was Sunday night, and the strong reassurance came to me that God's effective help was right where we were. Soon our son went peacefully to sleep. He was back in school on Monday, free of the pain, which never returned.
