I ACCEPTED GOD'S BLESSING

A few years ago, I moved back to my home state of Michigan from the East Coast. I had to find a job to support myself and my youngest child, who was in middle school at the time and still living at home, so I accepted a management position at a local restaurant. During this time, I struggled to make ends meet financially and felt guilty that I couldn't spend more time with him.

One night, while I was working late at the restaurant, I received a call from my son. Some rowdy neighbors were in the street yelling and throwing bottles. I called another manager in to work for me and quickly left for home. The police confronted the neighbors, and the street became quiet again. But my thoughts remained less than peaceful.

Soon after this incident, I began waking up in the morning with pain in my side and chest. It was so severe that I had to position myself on my back for up to 20 minutes, just to be able to get out of bed. I was used to relying on prayer for effective healing, and had seen wonderful proofs of God's power in the past, so I knew there was a spiritual solution to this pain. Each time it occurred, I would lie still in bed and pray to feel God's comfort and love. I affirmed that there was nothing that could separate me from feeling the tangible presence of His care.
