CONVICTION OF GOD'S LOVE HEALS CHILD

Some years ago, our garage door jammed open about a foot off the ground. As I tried to fix it, it suddenly closed on my toddler son's hand. Quickly freeing him, I immediately began to pray as I've learned to do in Christian Science.

He was crying, and the hand appeared to be badly hurt. He kept looking at it and became more upset and disturbed each time he did so. I decided to take him to the nearby hospital emergency center to have them bandage it. My only objective in doing this was to have the wound covered up.

At the emergency center, the nurses told me that his hand should be X-rayed because it looked as if tendons might have been severed and nerves damaged. They also felt that the wound needed stitches right away. Feeling truly grateful for their care and concern, I explained that I was a Christian Scientist and that we would be relying on prayer. Feeling absolutely confident that he would be healed, I tried to reassure them that everything would be all right. I asked the nurses to simply clean the wound and bandage his hand.
