GOD NATURALLY TOOK CARE OF ME

When my grandfather took me to the Christian Science Sunday School as a child, I learned that God is Love. I knew that if all else failed, I would turn to Him. In my teens, I left Christian Science. But after I married and had two children, I returned to church.

I was appointed organist, and the lovely voices of the soloists inspired me to write songs for them. Sometimes when I wrote, I would be stuck for a word. Thus commenced a wonderful relationship with God that has continued into my 90s. When I needed a word for a song, the answer always came to me in the middle of the night when all was quiet. I would be woken with the exact word that I needed. So as not to wake my husband, I would go into the kitchen and quickly write down the precious word. I felt obedient, like Samuel, letting "none of his words fall to the ground" (I Sam. 3:19). I knew they were from God.

Then I realized that God could and would help me with other problems, and I felt a great bond with God and trust in Him build up. This was a wonderful blessing in my marriage, too. At first, my husband would scoff at Christian Science, but as I returned love instead of reacting, we became very close until his passing some years ago.
