MISSION TO SPREAD GOD'S WORD

Last month, Leide Lessa, Managing Editor of the Heralds of Christian Science, and Marilyn Jones, a Sentinel Senior Writer, talked with CHRIS THYBERG of the American Bible Society (ABS). Mr. Thyberg serves as Director of Church Partner Development, ABS's ministry to local congregations, denominational bodies, interconfessional church alliances, and parachurch ministries.

The American Bible Society was founded in 1816 and is headquartered in New York City. Its mission is to make the Bible available to every person in a language and format each can understand and afford, so that all people may experience its life-changing message.

The following excerpts cover only a small portion of the wide-ranging conversation Leide and Marilyn had with Chris about the work of the American Bible Society and the "emerging church" that Chris attends, Three Nails, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
