SEEING GOOD AS THE ONLY REALITY BRINGS HEALING

Almost two years ago, I began to experience rectal bleeding. When it continued for a day or so, I became concerned. A relative who'd had similar symptoms had required surgery and a lengthy recuperation. I was also aware of television ads that considered symptoms such as mine to be serious.

I have relied on the healing power of Christian Science for most of my life, so I never doubted that it would heal me in this situation. I began to pray, acknowledging that God had made His creation perfect and eternal, and that since I was a part of that creation, I could not know or experience anything unlike Him.

At this time, I mentioned the situation to my wife, who shared several helpful spiritual truths to support my prayer. She also encouraged me to call our Christian Science teacher for further prayerful support. I have to confess that embarrassment kept me from making the call right away. But soon it was clear to me that pride was an obstacle to healing, and it needed to be cleared out of my thought.
