CALMING THE TERROR

They said wherever you travel sudden terror might come.
It's concealed in consciousness, lurking in levels,
Waiting to explode and frighten as much as possible.

Terror stormed the disciples.
It was in their ship,
Assaulting their senses, beating their bodies, drowning their knowledge.
Then they remembered the man in the back of the boat.
He was asleep. He was undisturbed.
He was their friend, Jesus.

And they came to him, and awoke him, saying,
Master, master, we perish.
Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water:
and they ceased, and there was a calm.
And he said unto them, Where is your faith?

Then they knew the Christ was with them.
And they understood his Father—unseen, ever-present, omnipotent Good.

Peace, be still.

As I journey
By bus, by train—by boat, by plane,
I no longer fear the terror.
For as I am transported with Christly thoughts, so the wrath recedes;
I rediscover my loving Father-Mother God, and my concept is quiet.
My faith is restored.
