LETTERS

Thank you for the "timely" issue on "Release from time pressures" (May 23). In Warren Bolon's article, "Toward frazzle-free families," he shares Annette Kreutziger-Herr's remarks on children, which can include everyone, "hav[ing] a worth independent of what they do. Their worth depends on their status as God's beloved children. So, being is more important than doing."

I am gratefully seeing this concept with many families who are voluntarily downsizing various aspects of their lives—be it activities, careers, or dwellings—in order to "be more than do." This gentle turnaround is indicative of, as Warren writes, "divine Spirit mov[ing] each of us from the beginning," with the desire to live less materialistically, and more spiritually and compassionately—maybe to see a little more of heaven here on earth, knowing that one's worth is God-derived, not self-driven.
