ANYONE CAN BE A HEALER
JUST KEEP CLIMBING
NEW MOUNTAIN VIEWS captivate me. But it took me a while to climb high enough in my love for God to overcome the feeling that I couldn't be a Christian Science practitioner.
I was even comfortable with the reasons: too many past mistakes in my life; too lazy; didn't know how to pray well enough; praying for people was a scary responsibility. And—how could I make a living? Growing up I was healed quickly in Christian Science, often with the help of a practitioner. But the healing practice wasn't for me, or so I thought.
What slowly broke my logjam was a growing understanding of love. In high school I wanted to be loved. In college I wanted everybody else to be loving and criticized those who weren't. But this verse kept singing to me:
